Our main objective is to help raise the orphaned children, under God's word; and to provide them with basic needs today, so they can be responsible individuals tomorrow. We also hope to open a medical clinic in the future to provide basic medical care to the orphanage and the local community.
Our Mission:
To help change the lives of orphans and poverty-stricken people into a life full of hope.
Our Vision:
- Improve the lives of orphans and the under-privileged, into a life full of hope.
- Provide a Christ-based home for the orphaned children and to raise support to reach the orphanages capacity.
- Provide essential schooling and daily needs.
- Completion of the medical building and equip it with supplies to serve the orphanage and the local people.
- Draw many to Christ through our services and care to expand God's kingdom.
Our Core Values:
- Bible – Everything we are and do is defined by the Bible. The Bible is our most central and ultimate authority. It is the revelation of the Gospel of Jesus (Luke 2:30-32; 2 Tim 3:16-17)
- Gospel transformation – the Gospel of Jesus has the power of God to change lives (Rom 12:2; 2 Corinth 3:18)
- Local church partnership – Since Christ is about building the Church, NLCC seeks to change lives through the local church, including the people of the wider community surrounding the orphanage (Matt 16:18; Hebrews 10:24-25)
- Adoption – We do seek to make the orphans’ lives in Kenya as healthy and happy as possible, yet God is a God who adopts. God calls us to find homes for the fatherless (John 14:18; Rom 8:23)
- Love and Compassion - We demonstrate our love, show care and kindness for others by helping others in need of gospel transformation (1 Corinth 13:3-6; John 3:16)
- Personal involvement – NLCC has always been about individuals from around the world being personally involved by not only praying and giving, but going to Kenya (Math 28:19-20)
- Courage – To face difficult situations with confidence and determination; standing up for the Truth when conscience demands (Zech 8:16; Eph 6:10-13)
- Cultural sensitivity – Kenyan and American cultures are sometimes similar and sometimes different. The work that we are doing is for people in Kenya, thus American culture must take a backseat to Kenyan culture unless there are parts of either culture that are in conflict with the Bible (1Corinth 9:22-23)
Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.
Psalm 82:3
Whoever welcomes a child like this in my name welcomes me.
Matthew 18:5
